This position provides database & analytical support, management of data migration processes, predictive modeling and data validation for publishing, email and circulation data. Candidate plays an active role in the implementation and maintenance of robust, flexible and powerful cross-platform, multi-channel marketing information systems for email, digital, print and advertising campaigns.
Job Tasks
Maintain and develop automated programs and processes for data transfer between repositories across multiple platforms using SQL, object-based ETL tools, XML scripts and existing APIs. Candidate will utilize those tools to support the marketing efforts of multiple departments.
Combine and summarize data from multiple sources using programming tools in mySQL and Oracle database environments. Build aggregate functions and formulate logic to handle and effectively utilize large quantities of raw data for campaign selection and reporting.
Investigate email and direct mail history data, demographics, order history, retention patterns, response channels and campaign list sources to identify and profile the best and worst performing segments and customer characteristics.
Create actionable response models and analytics from transactional, demographic and lifestyle data to uncover trends, improve mailing response rates and reduce costs by profiling and segmenting customer data.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
4 year degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or related field.
Must have significant experience in SQL.
Must have working knowledge of ETL tools, XML and use of APIs.
Must understand relational database design including data normalization.
Direct marketing experience a plus.
Experience with SAS, SPSS, KXEN statistical software a plus.
Organized, detail-oriented and ability to independently drive results as self-starter.
Demonstrated success in effectively communicating, both orally and written.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
